Teacher Appreciation week is a big deal for my family. Both my husband and I were educators before we left to open our bakeries so we LOVE our teachers! Last year my eldest daughter was the first to attend school so her teacher was spoiled by us. We had a gift for her teacher every day for five days. This year we have two kids in school so it’s not economical for us to do what we did last year. I will feature a gift that we are giving to the kid’s teacher each day. They are small heartfelt and affordable gifts that you can easily make. Stay tuned for that!
TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY 1: best teacher BAR none!
I recently started a board on Pinterest called School Mom and it’s filled with great teacher appreciation gifts. You can follow me - Christine the baker - on www.pinterest.com/tsbbakery to see my pins.
I wanted the first day to be something simple and small so I chose this gift idea. I purchased Lindt dark chocolate strawberry bars on sale for 2/$5. I got scrapbooking paper from Michaels and used American Typerwriter font and sized it to 28. I laid the text in the middle of the page so that I can wrap the top and bottom around the back of the candy bar. I used double sided tape to secure it to the bar to prevent it from sliding out and picked a ribbon that I had on hand at home to tie a pretty bow.
