I’ve been wanting to make these since seeing them on Pinterest last year. It was now or never with only 2 kids in school. Letters with simple lines were far easier to make then ones that have curves in them.
I used this blog to read her approach on how she made hers: http://www.chiccheapnursery.com/2011/do-it-yourself/diy-how-to-make-a-crayon-monogram/
I didn’t want to download any fancy font onto my computer so I used what was already there. Lucida Bright sized to 510 was perfect for my 8×10 frame that I purchased on sale for $5.99 at Michael’s. 2 boxes of 16 count crayons was plenty enough for me to create 2 letters. I also purchased one pack of scrapbooking letters for both projects. Simple Elmer’s glue secured the crayons to the cardstock and I placed a heavy book on top of it overnight so that it could set.
I recommend that you do a search on crayon letters to see how everyone else created theirs. That way you know what looks good and you can go from there.
