Two days prior to the party I started on the streamers. I measured the length of my windows and cut one piece of streamer as a template. I wanted the colors of the ocean so I got (2 pk) blue, (1pk) green, and (1pk) white. I didn’t want to miss my show The Voice so I was planning to multitask as I cut all of the streamers from the comfort of my living room. It was very tricky unwinding the crepe paper without it tangling so my hubby slid a wooden dowel through all of my streamer rolls and graciously offered to hold it for me as I pulled them to cut! It was a genius idea, no more tangles and not to mention it made it simpler to double and triple up to cut! I used regular tape to tape them to the top of the window then twisted them approximately 7 times for each and secured them with tape.
I am a big hoarder, I think I all teachers have this problem. We’re afraid to throw it out because we may need it in the future. The jellyfishes were actually party décor that I used for Madison’s first birthday party 7 years ago! I cut five pieces of pink ribbon and stapled it to the base of the tissue paper ball. My husband was not a fan of the pink but then again he doesn’t watch SpongeBob with the kids so he doesn’t get a say.
I decided to do a macaron spread because I’ve discovered that macarons are always the first goodies to go in a party not to mention that they look like little crabby patties!!!! That’s what my kids called them when I first introduced them to the world of macarons. I could’ve made them look like little burgers but then again I just didn’t have the time so plain yellow to match the theme. They were pistachio, TSB signature, cookies n’ cream, and caramel flavored.
