My post today is dedicated to my best friend and her mate. They will be celebrating their union this upcoming month and she asked me to help her with the planning. How could I pass up this opportunity to do what I love and for someone that I love?

One of the hottest spring color palletes this season is yellow, gray and white. Once I got the couple to A-Okay it, I immediately went to my favorite websites to draw up inspiration. Anyone planning a party should definitely check out Amy Atlas Events or Tom Kat Studios to see all the great themes and ideas that they offer.

The plan is to make a fabulous dessert table with different elevations and have a beautiful cake for the couple to cut as the focal point. Yellow French macarons, sugar cookies, powdered donuts, cake pops, cupcakes, and candies will adorn the table. I’m planning to keep the serving trays simple like in the picture so that the goodies will pop.

I am still looking for the perfect backdrop for this table but I did have an opportunity to create the backdrop for the photo booth area. I will spread out the paper fans a bit more and add more white to it. I simply purchased scrapbooking paper while on sale at local craft shops and spent endless nights in front of the TV folding paper fans. I used double-sided tape to adhere 3 fans together to create this look.

The party favor boxes were simple and classy. I’m planning to fill them with TSB’s famous mini chocolate chip cookies for each guest to enjoy. Ribbon was purchased while on sale as well and I printed the tags on to white heavy weight paper and punched them out with a fancy puncher.

I can’t wait to finalize everything else and post my inspiration for their cakes and goodies. Every one deserves happiness. Cheers to SWEET beginnings together!
