The highlight of my day is picking up my kids from school so that I can hear about the day that they had. On the second day of school, my daughter couldn’t wait to tell me about one of her teachers who is a HUGE Texans fan - specifically of J.J. Watt. She told me that Mrs. C has a photo-shopped poster of J.J. Watt holding her hanging on her classroom wall. This just cracked me up and I immediately knew what I wanted to do for her birthday when it came around.

Mrs. C’s birthday is this weekend so I put together a little Texans-themed cake pop gift box for her celebration. The idea was to make a football helmet, football, logo, and jersey.

The cake balls getting shaped before the dipping process

I’ve never made a football helmet shaped cake pop before but I knew that the grill would definitely be made from fondant. The hardest part was shaping the cake balls but everything else afterwards was a breeze.

Needless to say, my daughter cannot wait to go to school today to surprise her with these cake pops. I packaged them in a clear box with some crinkle paper and ribbon.

I think that this gift box will make any Texans fan swoon.

Happy birthday Mrs. C and I hope that your day just got a little bit sweeter!
